Graduate Learning Mentor – Secondary School (East London)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Graduate Learning Mentor to join a vibrant mixed community secondary school in Canning Town, East London. This temporary agency position starts in September 2026 and offers hands‑on experience supporting pupils aged 11‑16 across a range of subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group learning support to improve attainment and confidence.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and behaviour strategies.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, offering targeted interventions.
• Build positive relationships to encourage student engagement and progress.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• A degree (2:2 or above preferred) in any discipline.
• Genuine interest in working with young people and a career in education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience and a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
