Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant (Didcot)

About the role
A friendly, inclusive primary school in Didcot is looking for a motivated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated team. This full‑time, long‑term position offers recent graduates practical experience supporting children with additional needs while preparing for a career in education, psychology, speech and language therapy, or related fields.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with additional needs during classroom learning and intervention sessions.
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance under the guidance of teachers and SEN specialists.
- Encourage communication, confidence and emotional wellbeing of each child.
- Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals.
- Assist pupils in developing independence and achieving personal goals.
Required profile
- A degree in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Childhood Studies or a related subject.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Patient, caring and proactive attitude.
- Interest in a long‑term career within education or specialist support services.
