Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Harrow

About the role

This full‑time Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant position is based in an outstanding secondary school in Harrow. It offers recent graduates a hands‑on introduction to classroom practice and a clear pathway toward fully funded teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Support students with special educational needs on a 1:1, small‑group and whole‑class basis.
• Assist experienced teachers in delivering subject‑specific lessons and targeted intervention sessions.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff.
• Encourage confidence, independence and engagement among learners.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in any subject (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages, PE, Computer Science).
• Enthusiastic about supporting young people with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to pursuing a teaching qualification (PGCE, Schools Direct, apprenticeship).
