About the role
Academics is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a high‑achieving secondary school in East London from September. This full‑time, year‑long placement offers recent graduates valuable classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or related education careers.
Key responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive KS3 and KS4 lessons.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions for students needing extra help.
- Assist pupils with academic progress, confidence and engagement.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and fellow graduates as part of a wider support team.
- Help maintain a positive, safe and productive learning environment.
- Support students with a range of learning needs where required.
Required profile
- A degree in any subject.
- Genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, enthusiastic and professional attitude.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Residence within or ability to travel to East London.
