Graduate Teaching Assistant – English Graduate (Full‑time, temporary)

About the role

We are seeking English graduates to join secondary schools across Croydon and South London as Graduate Teaching Assistants. This full‑time, temporary position starts in September 2026 and offers hands‑on classroom experience while supporting student learning and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Support students in and out of the classroom, delivering 1:1 and small‑group interventions.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, delivery and classroom management.
• Provide targeted support for learners with SEND where required.
• Contribute to literacy development and help students overcome learning barriers.

Required profile

• Degree in English or a related subject.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring) is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
