Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic graduates to support secondary schools across South West London. This full‑time position offers hands‑on classroom experience for those who wish to pursue teacher training or related educational careers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one academic or pastoral support to pupils.
• Build positive relationships and help remove barriers to learning.
• Run small‑group intervention sessions to boost progress.
• Support pupils with SEN, behavioural, emotional or academic needs.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive environment.
• Contribute to extracurricular clubs and enrichment programmes.

Required profile

• Hold a degree in any subject.
• Genuine interest in education and working with young people.
• Considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, youth work or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, adaptable and enthusiastic.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete compliance checks.
