Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Croydon. The role supports the delivery of high‑quality teaching and learning, working closely with teachers to help every child succeed. This full‑time position starts in September and offers a dynamic, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources, learning materials and activity setups.
• Provide small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions to support academic and social progress.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs, including those with EHCPs.
• Supervise students during lessons, playtime, group work and transitions.
• Help with assessments, observations and maintain accurate records.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in an educational setting (desirable).
• First‑Aid certification (preferred) and additional training in SEN, safeguarding or behaviour support (preferred).

• Good organisational skills and initiative.
