Graduate Teaching Assistant – KS1 (Elephant & Castle)

About the role

This full‑time Graduate Teaching Assistant position supports a KS1 class in a mainstream primary school located in Elephant & Castle, South London. It is designed for recent graduates who want hands‑on classroom experience before commencing teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging KS1 lessons.
• Work with pupils individually, in small groups and as part of whole‑class activities.
• Support the development of literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and daily routines.
• Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive learning environment.
• Gain practical experience across all aspects of primary education.

Required profile

• UK‑recognised degree (essential).
• Previous experience working with children in a school, tutoring, childcare, coaching or similar setting.
• Strong ambition to pursue a career in teaching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Positive, enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
