Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Chigwell)

About the role
We are seeking a recent university graduate to join a mainstream primary school in Chigwell as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. The role is full‑time during term dates and offers the chance to work closely with children who have autism and other special educational needs while gaining valuable classroom experience.
Key responsibilities
- Support children with SEND needs both inside and outside the classroom.
- Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviour using a range of techniques.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers.
- Develop creative activities to keep learners engaged.
Required profile
- Passionate about working with children with SEN.
- Recent graduate (any discipline, especially Maths, English, Psychology or creative subjects).
- Reliable, flexible and able to commute to Chigwell.
- Enthusiastic about improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
Required skills
What we offer
- Daily rate of £105‑£115 (PAYE) for a full‑time, term‑time contract.
- Full support from classroom teachers, senior leadership and the SENCO.
- Potential pathway to permanent employment with the school.
