Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary

About the role

This position offers aspiring secondary school teachers a paid, hands‑on experience in a vibrant East London secondary school. It is designed for graduates who wish to gain classroom exposure before commencing teacher training or a PGCE.

Key responsibilities

• Support students across years 7 to 11 with daily classroom activities.
• Assist teachers in preparing and delivering lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group help to pupils of varying abilities.
• Observe and learn a range of teaching styles and classroom management techniques.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a genuine interest in secondary education.
• Previous paid or voluntary experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, coaching, volunteering).
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
