Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Bushey)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Bushey, Hertfordshire. You will work closely with teachers and other assistants to support pupils on a one‑to‑one basis and in small groups, helping them achieve their GCSE targets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and classroom activities.
• Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups.
• Observe and record pupil progress, reporting findings to teachers.
• Deliver supplemental sessions as directed to improve attainment.

Required profile

• Degree preferred, ideally in a mainstream curriculum subject (e.g., English, Maths, Science, French, History).
• Experience working with children, including understanding of special needs or learning difficulties.
• Professional, enthusiastic and adaptable approach to supporting learning.

Required skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to organise and manage small‑group activities.
• Basic knowledge of GCSE curriculum requirements.
