Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Islington)

About the role

We are looking for recent graduates who are passionate about education to join secondary schools in Islington as Graduate Teaching Assistants. This term‑time only position provides valuable classroom experience before you embark on teacher training or further study.

Key responsibilities

• Support students during lessons across a variety of subjects.
• Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
• Assist students with additional learning needs.
• Help teachers prepare classroom resources.
• Encourage student confidence, engagement and academic progress.
• Support behaviour management within the classroom.

Required profile

• A degree in any subject.
• A genuine passion for education.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to motivate and inspire young people.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
