Graduate Teaching Assistant – Support Neurodivergent Students

About the role
We are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support neurodivergent pupils aged 11‑14 in an independent school in North London. The role involves providing academic and emotional assistance to students with moderate learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorder, working closely with the national curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one or small‑group academic support.
- Promote an inclusive classroom environment and provide emotional guidance.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies to ensure student wellbeing.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK.
- Current, clear DBS check.
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant.
- Patient, calm demeanor and ability to work under pressure.
Required skills
- Knowledge of behaviour management and positive reinforcement.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures.
