About the role
We are looking for a recent graduate to join a partner secondary school in Watford as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. This full‑time, long‑term position starts in October 2026 and offers a pathway into a teaching career.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, including those with special educational needs.
- Deliver targeted academic intervention programmes to help students achieve their potential.
- Assist classroom teachers in maintaining an engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independent learning among students.
Required profile
- Recent graduate in any subject.
- Passion for working with young people and helping them succeed.
- Patience, resilience and strong communication abilities.
- Experience with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
Required skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to support learners with diverse needs.
