Graduate Town Planner

About the role

We are an established chartered surveying and planning consultancy seeking a motivated graduate to start a career as a Town Planner. You will join a supportive team in Preston, gaining real responsibility on residential, commercial and rural projects from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation and management of planning applications from inception to determination.
• Carry out site appraisals and research to advise on development potential.
• Produce planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients, local planning authorities and consultants.
• Monitor changes in planning policy and national legislation.

Required profile

• 2:1 or first‑class degree (any discipline) from a recognised university.
• Strong academic record with awards or scholarships valued.
• Self‑starter with initiative and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent written, research and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Interest in the built and rural environment and commitment to becoming a chartered planner.
• Full driving licence.
