Graduate Wing Structures & Systems Installation Engineer

About the role

Airbus is looking for recent graduates to join the Wing Engineering Team in Belfast as part of a two‑year Global Graduate development programme. You will rotate through design, analysis, materials & processes and plant engineering activities while receiving structured training and leadership development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform static stress and fatigue/damage tolerance analyses using first‑principles and FEM tools.
• Develop designs in CATIA, manage configurations and conduct digital mock‑up (DMU) activities.
• Automate engineering processes through coding and data‑analysis techniques.
• Evaluate materials (metals, composites), define coatings/sealants and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Represent engineering in the plant, support non‑conformances and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree (2:1 or higher) in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
• Recent graduate or limited professional experience with relevant project or internship exposure.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Motivation to work collaboratively and drive innovation in aerospace.
• Self‑awareness and eagerness to take ownership of personal development.
