Green Space & Cleansing Operative – Exeter

About the role

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of Exeter City Council for Green Space and Cleansing Operatives. The role involves maintaining clean, safe and welcoming public spaces across Exeter, working outdoors on a variety of routes and sites.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of litter, empty public bins and keep car parks tidy.
• Clean public facilities such as toilets and maintain cleanliness of streets.
• Remove small graffiti, fly‑posting and manage minor vandalism.
• Trim weeds in parks and along roadsides.
• Carry out basic inspections, report maintenance issues, fly‑tipping and damaged street furniture.
• Complete required paperwork and inspection records.

Required profile

• Reliable, punctual and physically fit for outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with flexible patterns.
• Full, clean manual UK driving licence.

Required skills

What we offer

• £13.45 per hour.
• Immediate start with full training on sweeping, van routes, deep cleaning, car‑park and toilet cleaning.
• Full‑time or part‑time hours, 3‑5 days a week, with weekend availability preferred.
• Opportunity to work directly supporting Exeter City Council’s environmental services.
