Groundcare Technician

About the role

The Groundcare Technician will split time between workshop duties and on‑site work across South Yorkshire, servicing a wide range of groundcare and landscaping machinery. This permanent, full‑time position offers a varied day‑to‑day workload, combining technical repairs with customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing on compact tractors, rotary mowers, ride‑on mowers, remote‑controlled mowers, UTVs/Gators and related attachments.
• Diagnose faults on site and in the workshop, carrying out repairs to a high standard.
• Assemble and prepare new and used machinery (PDI) for delivery.
• Provide technical and operating advice to customers.
• Balance workshop work (≈50%) with field service visits (≈50%).

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline (Level 2 also considered).
• Experience in groundcare, green‑keeping, turf‑care, agricultural or plant machinery.
• Willingness to work both in the field and workshop, with flexible hours for peak seasons.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑facing attitude.

Required skills

• Groundcare vehicle and machinery maintenance.
• Fault diagnosis and mechanical repair.
• Assembly and pre‑delivery inspection (PDI) of machinery.
• Familiarity with compact tractors, rotary mowers, ride‑on mowers, remote‑controlled mowers, and utility vehicles (UTVs/Gators).
