Grounds Maintenance Assistant

About the role

Join PMR’s Estates Team as a Grounds Maintenance Assistant, delivering high‑quality cleaning and gardening services across Basingstoke and surrounding housing schemes. This full‑time, permanent role works 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and involves mobile, on‑site work supporting residents.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance, including lawn, shrub and plant care across multiple sites.
• Operate and maintain gardening equipment safely and efficiently.
• Provide cleaning services to ensure tidy communal areas.
• Interact with residents and colleagues, delivering excellent customer service.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including COSHH and PPE requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grounds maintenance on a variety of sites.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to perform physical tasks safely and within health‑and‑safety guidelines.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Use of horticultural fungicides and pesticides.
• Operation of gardening equipment.
• Use of mobile devices such as tablets for work orders.
