Grounds Maintenance Operative – 4‑Month Temporary Contract

About the role

We are looking for two enthusiastic, self‑motivated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our team on a four‑month temporary contract, with a strong likelihood of extension or permanency. You will be responsible for the cyclical upkeep of communal green spaces across a range of housing estates in the South East region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular grass cutting, shrub care and hedge trimming in external communal areas.
• Carry out soft‑landscaping projects and minor, non‑complex tree work to maintain and enhance the local canopy.
• Respond promptly to unexpected hazards, such as clearing fly‑tipped waste or providing snow clearance during winter.
• Use a company‑provided tablet and mobile phone to track schedules, manage workloads and record daily task completions.

Required profile

• Practical, hands‑on experience in amenity horticulture or commercial grounds maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence (towing/BE licence highly desirable).
• Relevant certifications such as PA1, PA6AW weed‑spraying qualifications or NPTC tree/chainsaw certificates are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Proactive team player with clear communication skills who can work independently.
