Group Accountant – Statutory & Tax Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Group Accountant to join our Statutory Accounting team within a fast‑growing international business. The role combines statutory reporting, tax compliance and team leadership in a hybrid working environment based in Liverpool.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for multiple entities.
• Review monthly P&L, balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial statements.
• Manage tax compliance activities, including VAT, tax computations, filings and declarations.
• Own deferred tax calculations and support R&D tax credit claims.
• Liaise with external auditors and review audit and tax deliverables.
• Support international tax compliance and reporting requirements.
• Manage and develop a small team of two finance professionals.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant.
• Ideally 3+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong statutory accounting and audit experience.
• Confident handling of tax matters, including VAT, deferred tax and tax computations.
• Experience reviewing financial statements and working with external auditors.
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
• International tax exposure is a plus.
