Group Finance Assistant

About the role

We are recruiting a Group Finance Assistant to support our fast‑growing finance team within a global commodity logistics group. You will work closely with UK and European Management Accountants, handling day‑to‑day sales and purchase ledger activities across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Code and post sales and purchase invoices on Sage200 for several group companies.
• Manage the purchase invoice inbox and chase authorisations.
• Post bank receipts and payments, and reconcile purchase ledger accounts to supplier statements.
• Support the daily credit control function.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover for the Group Sales and Purchase Ledgers.
• Assist with accruals, pre‑payments and ad‑hoc finance projects.

Required profile

• 3+ years’ experience in a sales/purchase ledger or similar finance administration role.
• GCSE Maths and English essential; AAT desirable.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Confidence to build relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical ability.
