Group Financial Accountant

About the role

This is a senior position within a fast‑growing luxury hospitality group. You will join a lean, knowledgeable finance team and work across month‑end, treasury and business partnering for an international hotel portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the corporate month‑end close, preparing journals for accruals and pre‑payments.
• Post accounting entries for group debt, interest and hedging activities.
• Calculate internal debt funding and produce monthly debt/interest statements for hotels.
• Maintain the inter‑company matrix and loan accounts.
• Report cash reserves, build short‑term cash‑flow models and produce weekly cash reports.
• Collaborate with hotel finance controllers to monitor working capital.
• Process fund transfers and foreign‑currency purchases.
• Liaise with external advisors on accounting for overseas subsidiaries.
• Assist in the preparation of group and UK subsidiary statutory accounts.
• Support the group audit process and UK tax matters (VAT, Corporation Tax).
• Provide ad‑hoc project support to the Group Financial Reporting & Treasury Manager and VP of Finance.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualified with a top‑20 accounting firm.
• Experience in hospitality, retail or real‑estate finance is desirable.
• Recent practice experience is a plus for those looking to transition into industry.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of corporate accounting, month‑end close and statutory reporting.
• Experience with debt, interest, hedging and inter‑company accounting.
• Understanding of cash‑flow modelling, working‑capital management and foreign‑currency transactions.
• Familiarity with UK tax compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax) and audit processes.
