Group Financial Controller - Media

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead the finance function for a leading media and entertainment company, supporting European operations and reporting directly to the COO. This senior position combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Collate and analyse group consolidated reports, P&L and balance sheet.
• Prepare and manage group budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow reporting.
• Oversee client reporting, brand analysis and client projections.
• Produce monthly management accounts and statutory group accounts, including audit and tax coordination.
• Lead monthly closings, forecasting, budgeting and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
• Manage and develop the finance team, run routine meetings with department heads and act as the key point of contact.
• Drive process improvements and ensure accurate tracking of deals and sales.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in a media or entertainment business.
• Proven track record in UK GAAP, group consolidations and inter‑company transactions.
• Strong commercial mindset, adaptability and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with senior leadership.
