Group Leader - LAS

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is seeking a Group Leader – LAS to lead a high‑performing manufacturing team at its Norwich plant. You will drive a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement across metal fabrication, machining, composite manufacturing and assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Deliver on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People (SQDCP) targets.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of metal fabrication, machining, composites and assembly, optimizing people, equipment and material usage.
• Collaborate with planning and logistics to secure material flow and meet DIFOT goals.
• Maintain strict adherence to defined processes, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Define, embed and manage lean manufacturing strategies to reduce waste and improve equipment utilisation.
• Drive continuous improvement through data‑driven decision making and structured problem solving.
• Own KPI deployment and monitoring for safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.
• Develop and control manufacturing budgets aligned with programme volumes.
• Partner with heads of other departments to shape long‑term manufacturing strategy.
• Plan workforce development, training and succession.
• Maintain manufacturing policies, procedures and standards.
• Act as liaison across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, HR and Commercial functions.
• Manage change initiatives with minimal disruption.
• Support audit readiness for IATF16949, ISO9001 and other industry standards.

Required profile

• Degree, MBA or HNC in Mechanical & Production Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to manage budgets, KPIs and cross‑functional projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
