Gully Truck Driver/ Operative

About the role

Join Kier Transportation as a Drainage Operative based in Northamptonshire, working on the highway drainage network. You will operate a gully truck and high‑pressure jetting equipment to keep drainage systems functional and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Driving and operating a gully truck to carry out scheduled and reactive drainage maintenance.
• Cleaning and maintaining highway drainage systems including gully pots, ACO channels, culverts, and interceptors.
• Using high‑pressure jetting equipment to clear blockages and ensure free‑flowing drainage.
• Recording completed works using handheld devices.
• Supporting emergency response operations during adverse weather or flooding events.

Required profile

• Experience operating high‑pressure jetting equipment or similar vehicles.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Effective communication with team and public, following safety procedures.
• Holder of a UK Driving Licence and a class 2 HGV licence.
