Handyman / Maintenance Operative – Temporary (9 weeks)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, multi‑skilled Maintenance Operative to join a busy student accommodation for the summer period. You will play a key part in delivering an outstanding living experience by handling maintenance and repair requests efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems.
• Carry out general repairs, including plumbing, decorating and joinery.
• Support both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas.
• Identify and address maintenance issues and health & safety risks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records and compliance documentation.
• Provide a professional, approachable service to residents and communicate clearly with team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in maintenance, handyman or a related trade.
• Strong practical skills across general maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Reliable, self‑motivated individual who takes ownership of tasks.
