Handyperson / Maintenance Operative (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Handyperson / Maintenance Operative to support the day‑to‑day upkeep of a busy office facility in Poole. The role is part‑time, working 2‑3 days per week between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. You will ensure the premises remain safe, functional and presentable.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and routine maintenance throughout the office building.
• Perform basic painting, decorating and touch‑up work as required.
• Hang shelves, notice boards and other office fixtures.
• Undertake minor plumbing tasks such as replacing taps, washers and fixing leaks.
• Execute basic carpentry repairs and assemble office furniture.
• Replace light fittings, change bulbs and conduct simple electrical maintenance within competence.
• Move and reposition office furniture and equipment.
• Conduct regular building inspections and report any issues.
• Maintain tidy external areas and liaise with external contractors when needed.
• Support health‑and‑safety compliance across the premises.

Required profile

• Previous experience in handyman, maintenance or facilities roles.
• Good practical ability across a range of trades.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and solve problems.
• Reliable, trustworthy and self‑motivated.
• Effective communication skills.
