Head Chef – Luxury Care Home

About the role

We are seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen of our premium seaside care home. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, nutritious meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents while maintaining a supportive and balanced work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service.
• Ensure meals comply with nutritional standards, food safety regulations, and individual dietary requirements.
• Manage stock control, ordering, budgeting and waste reduction.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene and health & safety.
• Lead, train and develop kitchen staff to achieve consistent performance.

Required profile

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Proven experience in leading or managing a kitchen.
• Strong leadership and organisational abilities.
• Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety.
• Proactive, reliable and quality‑focused attitude.

What we offer

• £18.00 per hour, 42 hours per week on a rolling rota (3 × 12 hr weeks, 4 × 12 hr weeks).
