Head Housekeeper / House Manager – Central London

About the role

This is a hands‑on senior position managing a fully staffed private household in a three‑storey penthouse in Central London. The role blends traditional housekeeping with overall household management, requiring ownership of the property and a proactive approach to keeping everything running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for the family and household staff on all property‑related matters.
• Supervise the daily housekeeper, organise workloads and ensure high standards.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and maintenance appointments, reporting updates to the Principals and Chief of Staff.
• Conduct routine inspections of systems, appliances and fixtures, troubleshooting and arranging repairs.
• Maintain relationships with the building concierge and manage security systems and access.
• Oversee deliveries, parcel collection, unpacking and distribution.
• Liaise with the private chef and team on food deliveries and stock management.
• Organise storage logistics, seasonal rotations and inventory.
• Develop household manuals, procedures and maintain expenditure records.
• Perform hands‑on housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry and ironing.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Head Housekeeper or House Manager in a private residence.
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and support a household team.
• Excellent communication with senior household members and external service providers.
