Head Housekeeper

About the role

The Head Housekeeper leads the housekeeping operations for Didsbury House Hotel and Eleven Didsbury Park Hotel, two boutique Victorian townhouses in Manchester. This full‑time, on‑site role ensures guest rooms, public areas and event spaces are consistently clean, well‑presented and maintained to brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily housekeeping activities across both properties.
• Lead, schedule and train the housekeeping team.
• Monitor quality, health and safety procedures and conduct regular inspections.
• Manage linen, cleaning supplies and equipment inventory.
• Coordinate with front‑desk, events and maintenance teams.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and adapt cleaning routines during busy event periods.
• Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hotel or similar hospitality housekeeping, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, especially during peak periods.
• High standards of cleanliness with solid knowledge of cleaning procedures, products and health‑and‑safety practices.
• Effective communication for collaboration with front‑of‑house, events and maintenance teams.
• Flexibility to work full‑time on‑site, covering weekends, evenings and public holidays as needed.
• Basic administrative and IT skills for record‑keeping, hotel system usage and inventory management.
• Relevant housekeeping or hospitality qualifications are a plus; boutique or luxury hotel experience is advantageous.
