Head of Agriculture (North West Region)

About the role

Barclays is recruiting a Head of Agriculture for its North West region, covering Liverpool, Carlisle, Greater Manchester and Northern Ireland. You will lead a team of Agricultural Relationship Directors and Managers, drive commercial performance and strategic execution, deepen client relationships and ensure consistent delivery of the bank's Agriculture strategy. The role sits within Relationship Management and works closely with Business Banking and specialist functions.

Key responsibilities

• Set the strategic direction for relationship management, including implementing up-to-date methodologies and processes
• Manage relationship management initiatives, oversee colleagues' performance and implement departmental goals
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for relationship management
• Manage relationship management risk, including mitigation strategies and alignment with compliance
• Monitor financial performance, including revenue, profitability and cost control
• Conduct market research on trends, competition and regulation to identify opportunities
• Represent the bank externally, strengthen industry relationships and identify sector opportunities

Required profile

• Permanent contract, reference code JR-0000134975
• Proven leadership experience in agriculture or another specialist commercial banking sector
• Strong track record of commercial performance and strategic delivery
• Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams
• Desired: agricultural credit and lending experience, and relationships with industry bodies and introducers
