Head of Business Development – International Development Markets

About the role

Pinsent Masons is seeking a Head of Business Development to lead its International Development Markets practice. Reporting to the Director of Business Development – Groups & Sectors, you will shape market strategy, drive growth, and coordinate cross‑regional initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the firm’s go‑to‑market strategy for the US and emerging markets such as China, India, and Central & Eastern Europe.
• Collaborate with senior partners to prioritise focus areas, build consensus and execute business development and marketing plans.
• Manage a dedicated BD and marketing team, overseeing roadshows, client meetings and strategic alliances with local counsel and trade bodies.
• Develop data‑driven go‑to‑market plans that enhance client experience, generate new work and strengthen the firm’s reputation.
• Create activation assets including sales playbooks, infographics, digital content and event presentations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in US market business development and deal origination.
• Proven track record in emerging or development markets (e.g., China, India, Central & Eastern Europe, Africa, LatAm).
• Hands‑on relationship management experience, including outbound/inbound roadshows and strategic alliances.
• Demonstrated ability in sales enablement and client acquisition through high‑quality marketing assets.
