Head of Business Services Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Business Services Operations to lead and transform our shared services function. Reporting to the Director of Business Services, you will shape how services are delivered, drive efficiency and ensure compliance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑performing shared services and support functions, ensuring reliable, customer‑focused delivery.
• Drive transformation by simplifying processes, introducing automation and leveraging data.
• Maintain strong governance, risk and compliance frameworks across Business Services.
• Own budgets, workforce planning and resource allocation to deliver value for money.
• Develop and mentor teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with senior leaders across SGN to understand needs and provide effective solutions.
• Use customer feedback and analytics to improve service quality and satisfaction.
• Communicate change initiatives clearly and support adoption of new ways of working.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in shared services, business operations or a similarly complex, regulated environment.
• Track record of leading large, diverse teams through change and transformation.
• Experience managing budgets, workforce planning and resource optimisation.
• Strong governance, performance and risk‑management expertise.
• Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and influence across organisational boundaries.
• Experience translating strategic priorities into practical operational delivery.
