Head of Chemicals Strategy

About the role

The Head of Chemicals Strategy will lead the global strategy for ICIS's chemicals portfolio, driving long‑term growth and aligning commercial and product initiatives with market needs. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines strategic insight, market development and cross‑functional execution to turn market opportunities into commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the global chemicals strategy across the value chain.
• Gather and share market dynamics, customer workflows, regulatory and sustainability trends.
• Develop portfolio plans that enhance customer value and optimize offerings.
• Identify growth areas, new segments and use cases to expand market relevance.
• Assess M&A opportunities, benchmarks and partnerships to accelerate growth.
• Partner with Product, Content, Data and AI leadership to shape product, data and AI direction.
• Lead go‑to‑market planning with Sales and Marketing for key regions and segments.
• Guide pricing and packaging strategies aligned with market expectations.
• Oversee regional execution through Market Planners and ensure data‑driven planning.
• Represent ICIS as a market‑facing leader, building relationships with industry bodies, regulators and customers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in the chemicals or energy industry, preferably in strategy, consulting, corporate development or commercial leadership.
• Proven track record of developing and executing long‑term market strategies.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory environment and sustainability trends.
• Experience working with cross‑functional product, data and AI teams.
• Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing high‑performing teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
