Head of Commercial

About the role

As Head of Commercial you will join the Leadership Team to drive growth and operational excellence across our utility contracts. You will lead a high‑performing team, shape commercial strategy, improve margins and build strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee contract procurement and negotiation, aligning with commercial goals and Local Delivery Partners.
• Monitor contract performance against KPIs, ensuring financial and operational targets are met.
• Foster collaboration with stakeholders and supply‑chain partners to boost performance and customer satisfaction.
• Provide leadership and direction to contract‑wide staff, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Manage internal and client budgets, proactively addressing contractual risks.
• Continuously improve operational processes to enhance profitability.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and LDPs, ensuring compliance.
• Ensure governance and compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.

Required skills

• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Track record in high‑volume contract management and financial oversight.
• Proficiency in cost‑value reconciliation, P&L management and risk mitigation.
• Strong senior stakeholder relationship development.
• Ability to identify and close operational and process gaps.
