Head of Compliance (SMF16)

About the role

The Head of Compliance (SMF16) will provide independent, strategic oversight of regulatory compliance and conduct risk for a specialist motor insurance provider. Reporting to the Board and Executive team, you will ensure the business meets its regulatory obligations while supporting good customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver second‑line oversight of the Consumer Duty and Operational Resilience frameworks.
• Challenge and advise senior management on regulatory change, conduct risk and governance.
• Monitor compliance across the regulated entity and wider group activities.
• Lead horizon‑scanning, regulatory change management and product, pricing and distribution oversight.
• Oversee third‑party and outsourcing compliance, controls and assurance.
• Produce data, MI and reporting for the Board and regulators.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in general insurance compliance.
• Deep knowledge of the FCA Handbook and Consumer Duty.
• Proven ability to provide commercial‑aware regulatory advice.
• Strong governance, culture and conduct risk awareness.
