Head of Cyber Resilience and Cloud

About the role

We are supporting a leading financial services organisation in hiring a Head of Cyber Resilience and Cloud. Reporting to the CISO, you will steer cyber operations, threat reduction and resilience across both cloud and on‑premise environments, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute cyber‑resilience strategy for cloud and enterprise technology.
• Oversee SOC, SIEM, threat intelligence, vulnerability and attack‑surface management, and incident response.
• Collaborate with the CISO on strategic initiatives to raise operational resilience and cyber maturity.
• Lead major cyber incidents, ensuring effective containment, recovery and lessons‑learned.
• Govern cloud security, cyber recovery, data‑loss‑prevention and vulnerability programmes.
• Build and run threat‑intelligence capabilities and engage with external security communities.
• Design and deliver testing programmes including penetration testing, red‑team exercises and crisis simulations.
• Maintain a library of realistic cyber‑scenario simulations and drive remediation of identified control gaps.

Required profile

• Proven senior cyber‑security leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Strong technical background covering SOC, SIEM, threat intelligence, incident response, penetration testing and red‑team operations.
• Extensive experience leading cyber incidents and crisis‑management across enterprise and supply‑chain environments.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage specialist teams.

What we offer

• Competitive daily rate of £750‑£850 inside IR35.
• Hybrid working model – one day per week on site in Reading.
• 9‑month initial contract with potential extension.
