Head of Cyber Security

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing technology‑driven organisation in London to recruit a Head of Cyber Security. This senior, hands‑on leadership role balances strategic direction with day‑to‑day execution, ensuring security is embedded across all products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the company’s cyber security strategy and roadmap.
• Lead security operations, incident response, threat detection and vulnerability management.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform and infrastructure teams to embed application and cloud security best practices.
• Promote a security‑first culture through awareness programmes and training.
• Oversee security tooling, monitoring platforms and third‑party security relationships.
• Conduct risk assessments, manage remediation programmes and support compliance and audit requirements.
• Build, mentor and grow a high‑performing security team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading cyber security teams in a technology‑focused environment.
• Strong technical background across security engineering, cloud security, security operations or application security.
• Hands‑on experience with incident response and cyber‑risk management.
• Good understanding of modern cloud environments, infrastructure security and security tooling.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience in fintech, financial services, SaaS or other highly regulated sectors is a plus.
