Head of Development – Front Office Trading Platforms

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Development to lead the front‑office development team responsible for building and enhancing our high‑capacity Order Management System (OMS), low‑latency Execution Management System (EMS) and market connectivity platforms. This role offers the chance to shape an end‑to‑end, in‑house trading platform that supports global front‑office activities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive all application development initiatives within the EMEA Execution Services domain.
• Stay ahead of technological advances and evaluate strategic adoption.
• Promote pragmatic technology integration, focusing on reusability and reducing complexity.
• Present and advocate innovative technology solutions, designs, frameworks and architectural concepts.
• Synthesize complex architectural analyses for clear cross‑team understanding.
• Lead knowledge‑transfer activities and ensure smooth project kick‑offs and deliveries.
• Mentor development teams, review technical solutions and support delivery of non‑functional requirements.
• Monitor technical debt, conduct application audits and act as gatekeeper for new technology adoption.
• Design and develop high‑quality front‑office systems for equities trading, overseeing business change requests and continuous technical improvements.
• Provide Level 3 support for cash equities trading operations.

Required profile

• Strong motivation to work with cutting‑edge high‑throughput, low‑latency technologies.
• Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems independently.
• Domain knowledge of OMS, EMS and market connectivity.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing decisions that have long‑term impact.
