Head of Development (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Development to lead our remote engineering organisation. Reporting to the CTO, you will oversee a distributed team of full‑stack and cloud engineers working on an enterprise SaaS platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a remote team of Node.js/JavaScript, React, and AWS DevOps engineers.
• Own technical delivery, architecture, and engineering excellence across the SaaS product.
• Drive technical strategy, micro‑services design, cloud architecture, security and scalability.
• Write production code when needed and ensure best practices in CI/CD, IaC, and DevOps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the UK, Europe and the Americas.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, preferably remote.
• Strong background in JavaScript/Node.js, React, REST APIs and AWS.
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to deliver scalable micro‑services and SaaS solutions.
