Head of Engineering – TradingHub

About the role

TradingHub is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead its Engineering Core department. You will be responsible for the platforms that power the company’s market‑leading trade surveillance solutions, overseeing Infrastructure, Calculation and Web teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve core services and platform architecture to ensure scalability, resilience and cloud‑native design.
• Set architectural standards, reduce complexity and operational risk.
• Champion an AI‑first approach, embedding agentic AI workflows to boost engineering productivity.
• Translate strategic business objectives into reliable engineering outcomes and own end‑to‑end delivery.
• Partner with Product, Data and Infrastructure teams to align platform direction and system reliability.
• Own reliability and performance metrics (uptime, latency, SLOs/SLAs) and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure security, data protection and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing, accountable engineering organisation.

Required profile

• Significant experience delivering commercial software, preferably in fintech or large‑scale tech environments.
• Proven track record of delivering large transformation projects on time and with precision.
• Demonstrated ability to balance short‑term and strategic priorities.
• Confident leader of high‑performing software development teams, especially through changes in working practices.
• Experience with AWS or other public‑cloud platforms is preferable.
• Familiarity with AI‑first software development life‑cycle practices.
