Head of Event Operations

About the role

Lead the operational delivery of a portfolio of international exhibitions and conferences for a leading events business. You will coach and develop a team of Operations Managers and Coordinators while also planning and executing your own events.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a high‑performance culture, championing best practices and professional development across the operations team.
• Manage direct reports using KPIs, recruit and train new team members.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of events, ensuring first‑class client service and seamless on‑site experiences.
• Control budgets, maximise profitability and ensure sustainability of each event.
• Drive continuous improvement through feedback, industry technology and post‑event analysis.
• Oversee risk, compliance and security plans, delivering full risk assessments for each event.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering large‑scale international exhibitions (150+ stands) and multi‑stream conferences.
• Experience managing events with 1,000+ attendees in B2B or B2C environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a ‘one team’ ethos.
• Excellent budgetary control and profitability focus.

What we offer

• Base salary £70,000‑£80,000 per year plus up to 15% bonus.
• 12‑18 month hybrid contract based in London.
