Head of Faculty – English, Maths & ESOL

About the role

Our client, a leading further education college in Wiltshire, is seeking an inspiring Head of Faculty to lead the English, Mathematics and ESOL portfolio across its campuses. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will shape curriculum strategy, drive inclusive learning and support the college’s ambition to raise attainment and social mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the English, Maths and ESOL faculty across Chippenham, Lackham, Salisbury and Trowbridge.
• Develop and implement innovative, learner‑centred curriculum approaches aligned with regional and employer needs.
• Ensure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, and monitor performance against quality benchmarks.
• Foster a collaborative culture, supporting staff development and continuous improvement.
• Represent the faculty in senior college forums and build partnerships with local communities and industry.

Required profile

• Significant senior leadership experience in further education or similar setting.
• Proven track record of curriculum design and delivery in English, Mathematics and/or ESOL.
• Strong understanding of inclusive pedagogy and social mobility agendas.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder‑engagement skills.

• Competitive salary £45,689‑£57,133 per year, dependent on experience.
