Head of Faculty – Specialist, Inclusive Learning

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for driving high‑quality inclusive provision across adult and apprenticeship programmes at New College Swindon. You will shape strategy, support curriculum teams and ensure learners with SEND receive the support they need to succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support inclusive learning across adult and apprenticeship provision.
• Drive high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment for learners with SEND.
• Support curriculum teams to embed inclusive practice and meet learner needs.
• Monitor performance, progress and outcomes, driving continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the development of SEND and inclusion strategy across the College.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with SEND legislation, funding and regulatory requirements.
• Line‑manage and develop staff, fostering high performance and professional growth.

Required profile

• Experience in SEND, inclusion or additional learning support within further education or a similar setting.
• Leadership or management experience in education or support services.
• Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice.
• Ability to drive quality improvement and positive learner outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Collaborative and proactive leadership approach.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
