Head of Finance

About the role

We are partnering with a growing organisation in Liverpool seeking a Head of Finance to lead the financial control environment. This hybrid role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on implementation, ensuring robust, scalable processes across a complex business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and enhance the financial control framework, policies and procedures.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting through well‑documented controls.
• Manage risk identification, maintain the finance risk register and drive mitigation.
• Embed controls within systems and support finance transformation initiatives.
• Oversee treasury, payments and banking controls, including approvals and access governance.
• Act as the primary contact for internal and external audit, resolving findings.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to provide insight and challenge on risk and control matters.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in financial control, audit or risk within a complex environment.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive practical improvements.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
