Head of Finance

About the role

We are partnering with a leading organisation to appoint a Head of Finance for the Group, based in Hampshire. This high‑profile leadership role works closely with the Managing Director and Board to shape strategy, drive performance and influence commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the production, analysis and interpretation of management and statutory accounts for the Company and its subsidiaries, ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Oversee budgets and forecasts, analysing OPEX and CAPEX performance and translating financial insight into actionable guidance for departmental managers.
• Take ownership of capital and operational expenditure appraisal, including tender committee reviews and business case evaluation using NPV models.
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring appropriate procedures and accurate audit deliverables.
• Strengthen financial governance and controls, liaising with external stakeholders and maintaining required separation of oil and gas facility reporting for legal compliance.

Required profile

• Member of a recognised financial institution with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior finance position.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS for financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Experience working with auditors and applying governance, controls and reporting standards.
• Commercial credibility with contract and supplier negotiation experience, focused on adding value.
