Head of Finance (part-time considered)

About the role
A long-established humanitarian and environmental charity is seeking a qualified and proactive Head of Finance to join its small, dedicated finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will strengthen financial processes, improve reporting, and provide senior leadership with timely, accurate management information.
Key responsibilities
- Provide financial support to operational teams
- Improve processes and controls across the finance function
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and core accounting duties
- Assist with management accounts and statutory accounts for multiple entities
- Prepare statutory returns for HMRC, Charity Commission, etc.
- Manage one member of staff
Required profile
- Fully qualified accountant
- Hands‑on, detail‑focused approach
- Collaborative mindset with initiative to improve systems and processes
