About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing independent financial advice (IFA) firm, is looking for an experienced Head of Financial Planning & Advice. The role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on client work, allowing you to shape the advisory function while managing a select portfolio of high‑net‑worth clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and develop a team of Financial Planners and Advisers, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Design and implement workforce and succession plans to support future growth.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, development and retention of advisers.
• Drive business integration, including onboarding of new advisers and acquired businesses.
• Monitor commercial indicators such as adviser productivity, client profitability and new client acquisition to ensure sustainable revenue growth.
• Maintain a personal portfolio of affluent and high‑net‑worth clients, delivering detailed financial planning reviews and tailored recommendations.

Required profile

• Significant experience in financial planning, wealth management or independent financial advice.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing adviser teams.
• Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, governance and risk‑management requirements.
• Ability to balance commercial growth with excellent client outcomes.
