Head of Global Programme Finance – Hybrid

About the role

The role leads global programme finance for an international charity, shaping financial strategy and ensuring effective funding management across multiple countries. Reporting to the Global Director of Finance, you will influence senior decision‑making and drive best‑practice finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a global finance strategy that supports organisational growth.
• Provide robust financial oversight, ensuring sustainability and donor compliance across international programmes.
• Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, delivering insightful financial analysis.
• Oversee the full grant funding lifecycle from budgeting to reporting and audit readiness.
• Lead finance systems transformation, championing automation and real‑time reporting.
• Inspire, mentor and develop an international finance team.
• Collaborate with internal audit to strengthen governance, risk management and controls.

Required profile

• Qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA professional.
• Senior finance experience in complex, multi‑entity environments.
• Proven background in the INGO/charity or international development sector.
• Deep understanding of grant funding, donor compliance and contracts management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and partner with senior stakeholders.
• Track record of improving finance systems, processes and performance.
